About Me

Shawnee Rioles: Hi! My name is Shawnee Rioles and I grew up in South Florida where I studied and performed in musical theater, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and Latin dance. I performed in many Latin parades and festivals including famous Calle Ocho in Miami and was featured in many Latin dance productions on the Latin television channel, UNIVISION. I began teaching Zumba Fitness® in early 2007 when it was fairly unknown in the Los Angeles area and worked closely with Beto Perez (the creator of Zumba®), earning my instructor license from him, and ultimately taking part in the Zumba Fitness® infomercials filmed in LA that summer. Since then, I have built an incredible career of dance, fitness, and music that includes sharing the Zumba Fitness® program with hundreds of excited students every week, being featured in the new Zumba Exhilarate™ DVD Experience and infomercial this past year, and recently becoming an Authorized Zumba® Jammer (choreographer) where I mentor other instructors through their Zumba Fitness® career.
